The 'Mark 1' Explorer 214270 was discontinued by Rolex in 2016 and is becoming increasingly collectable because of its distinctive, non-luminous, 18k white gold 3, 6 and 9 o'clock hour markers. The so-called 'Mk 2' version of the 214270 which featured luminous 3, 6 and 9 markers was finally discontinued in 2021.
